Terms of Service

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Rune
• By creating an account, you confirm that you are over 13 years old
• If you are under 18, you confirm you have parental consent
• Accounts discovered to be owned by users under 13 will be terminated

• Each user may maintain only one account
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• Account sharing is strictly prohibited

5.1. Soul Gems Nature and Purpose:

• Soul Gems are a virtual currency used exclusively for AI generation features within Rune
• Soul Gems have no real-world monetary value and cannot be traded between users
• Soul Gems are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances
• Each Soul Gem represents both the virtual currency and the underlying AI processing costs

5.2. Soul Gems Expiration and Terms:

• ALL PURCHASED SOUL GEMS EXPIRE EXACTLY ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE
• FREELY REWARDED SOUL GEMS MAY HAVE SHORTER EXPIRATION PERIODS
• Expiration periods for rewarded Soul Gems will be disclosed at the time of issuance
• Expired Soul Gems cannot be restored or reimbursed
• Soul Gems are consumed in order of expiration (oldest first)
• Users are responsible for monitoring their Soul Gems' expiration dates
• Expired Soul Gems will be automatically removed from user accounts

5.3. Soul Gems Usage and Costs:

• By default, AI generation features cost 1 Soul Gem unless explicitly stated otherwise
• More complex generations may require multiple Soul Gems
• The exact Soul Gem cost will be displayed before any generation is initiated
• All Soul Gem purchases and uses are final and non-refundable

5.4. Purchasing Soul Gems:

• Soul Gems can only be purchased through our authorized payment processor (Stripe)
• Bulk purchase bonuses or special offers may be available at our discretion
• All Soul Gem purchases are final and non-refundable
• We reserve the right to modify Soul Gem pricing at any time

5.5. Account Termination:

• Any unused Soul Gems are forfeited upon account termination
• No refunds will be provided under any circumstances
• This includes accounts terminated for violations of these Terms

6.1. General Communication Rules:

• All communication must maintain a PG-13 standard
• Mild profanity is permitted but should not be excessive
• Users are personally responsible for all content they share
• All chat logs are retained indefinitely for security purposes

6.2. Prohibited Behavior:

• Harassment or targeted abuse of any kind
• Bullying or intimidation of other users
• Use of racial, ethnic, or discriminatory slurs
• Spam or excessive repetitive messaging
• Sharing of personal or private information
• Promotion of illegal activities
• Impersonation of staff or other users
• Deliberate disruption of chat functionality

6.3. Enforcement and Consequences:

• Violations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Consequences may include:
  • Temporary muting
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent account termination
• The severity of consequences will match the nature and frequency of violations
• All moderation decisions are final

6.4. Chat Features and Moderation:

• Currently available: Global chat
• Planned features may include private messages and group chats
• All chat features are subject to these guidelines
• Automatic chat filtering may be implemented at any time
• We reserve the right to modify chat features without notice

6.5. Chat Data and Privacy:

• All chat logs are permanently stored
• Chat logs may be used for:
  • Moderation purposes
  • Investigation of reported violations
  • Compliance with legal requirements
• Chat logs may be provided to law enforcement if legally required
• Chat history is retained even after account termination

7.1. Script Creation Guidelines:

• All user-created content must maintain a PG-13 rating
• Scripts must not contain:
  • Explicit sexual content
  • Excessive gore or violence
  • Hate speech or discriminatory content
  • Content that promotes illegal activities
• We reserve the right to remove any script without notice
• Repeated violations may result in loss of script creation privileges

7.2. Monetization and Rewards:

• Users may earn in-game gold through their published scripts
• Rune retains the right to take a percentage (10-15%) of gold earned through scripts
• The exact percentage may be adjusted at our discretion
• Gold earned has no real-world monetary value
• We reserve the right to modify the monetization system at any time

7.3. Content Rights and Ownership:

• Users retain creative rights to their original scripts
• By publishing scripts, users grant Rune:
  • Right to host and distribute the content
  • Right to modify or remove content as needed
  • Right to monetize content through in-game systems
• Scripts must not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights

8.1. Account Security Responsibilities:

• Users are responsible for maintaining their account security
• Passwords must meet Django's default security requirements
• Two-factor authentication (2FA) is available and recommended
• Account sharing is strictly prohibited
• Users must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

8.2. Compromised Account Claims:

• Valid compromise claims must include:
  • Proof of original account ownership
  • Details of suspicious activity
  • Timeline of unauthorized access
  • Any available evidence of the compromise
• Claims will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

8.3. False Reporting:

• False compromise claims will not be tolerated
• Users making false claims may face:
  • Immediate account termination
  • Permanent ban from the platform
  • Legal consequences for fraudulent claims

9.1. Data Collection:

• We collect and store:
  • Usernames
  • Password hashes
  • Email addresses
  • Chat logs
  • Account activity records
• Data is collected for security and operational purposes
• We do not share user data with third parties
• We do not currently use analytics tools

9.2. Data Retention Policy:

• All data is retained indefinitely for security and legal purposes
• After account deletion, we retain:
  • Chat logs
  • Account state at time of termination
  • Transaction history

10.1. Governing Law:

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, United States
• Users agree to submit to the jurisdiction of Arizona courts
• This agreement shall be construed in accordance with Arizona law

10.2. International Users:

• By using Rune, you agree to comply with all applicable local laws
• If any provision conflicts with local law, that provision shall be limited
• We may restrict service access in certain jurisdictions

10.3. Changes to Terms:

• We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time
• Changes will be announced through:
  • In-game notifications
  • Homepage announcements
  • Updates to this Terms of Service page
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
